Sector agropecuario avanza en la construcción de la Política de Igualdad de Género

El Ministro de Agricultura y Ganadería, Renato Alvarado; la Viceministra, Ana Cristina Quirós Soto y los jerarcas del sector agropecuario participaron en la construcción de la Política de Género e inclusión para el Sector Agropecuario, que el MAG ha venido impulsando desde inicios de esta administración.
El pasado mes de julio, el Ministro Alvarado en conjunto con la Ministra de la Condición de Mujer, Patricia Mora, firmaron una carta de compromiso para crear la Política y la apertura de la Oficina de Igualdad de Género e Inclusión, adscrita al Despacho Ministerial. "La construcción de esta política la lideramos con el fin de promover y fortalecer los procesos de cambio de la cultura institucional que se requieren para garantizar igualdad de oportunidades y de trato para las personas usuarias de los servicios, además, debemos crear cambio en la cultura organizacional de las diferentes instituciones que conforman el sector agroalimentario.", señaló el jerarca.
Durante el mes de noviembre, se realizaron talleres con mujeres y jóvenes en las 8 regiones del país, con el fin de conocer cuáles son las principales necesidades y debilidades que se han detectado en la institucionalidad. Algunos de los resultados arrojados evidenciaron la necesidad que tienen las mujeres y los jóvenes al acceso a las tecnologías, financiamiento a los proyectos productivos, desarticulación institucional, poca asistencia técnica, invisibilización de la mujer en los procesos, poco acceso a las tierras, falta de espacios de comercialización, carencia de infraestructura adecuada, inexistencia de servicios diferenciados en las instituciones, entre otros.
Dados estos resultados, los jerarcas trabajaron durante la mañana de este miércoles en un taller con el fin de analizar los servicios que brindan las 11 instituciones del sector y la necesidad de modificar y modernizar dichos servicios.
"Es importante que todo el sector simplifique, unifique y adecue los trámites que deben realizar las personas productoras. Debemos hacer un mapeo del estado de la situación de nuestros usuarios y garantizar que sus necesidades sean cumplidas de forma satisfactoria y en igualdad de condiciones" explicó el Ministro.
El jerarca, además, señaló el compromiso que tiene con el sector y la necesidad de cerrar la brecha de género que existe. "Costa Rica debe cumplir con los objetivos del Desarrollo Sostenible para la Igualdad de Género, atendiendo los compromisos 20-30 de la Naciones Unidas y la Convención para la eliminación de todas las formas de discriminación contra las mujeres y desde el Sector Agropecuario tomaremos la iniciativa de trabajar en esta política que garantice que las personas productoras cuenten con las mismas oportunidades" concluyó Alvarado Rivera.
Las principales líneas de acción de la Política de Género son: acceso a la tierra, acceso a proyectos de desarrollo en zonas rurales, disminuir estereotipos de género en las zonas rurales, acceso a las tecnologías agropecuarias y financiamiento.
La construcción de esta política cuenta con el apoyo y asistencia técnica tanto del Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura, IICA; el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo, PNUD, y el INAMU.
