Inició montaje de “La Fuerza y la Universalidad de la Esfera”

San José abrió las puertas a la exposición “La Fuerza y la Universalidad de la Esfera”, cuya instalación inició ya en los Museos del Oro y del Jade, de previo a la fase más compleja que inica el día 11 de febrero y que consiste en colocar las esculturas monumentales del escultor Jorge Jiménez Deredia, a lo largo de la Avenida Central y la Plaza de la Democracia.

Este proceso, que dirige la Municipalidad de San José junto al artista herediano, inició hace más de un año con una selección de lugares en los que pudieran ubicarse sin mayor contratiempo las distintas piezas que conforman la exposición. 

“Esta exposición es uno de los proyectos más importantes que estamos impulsando desde la Municipalidad de San José. Queremos afianzar la capital como un destino especial y con esta muestra inédita le ofrecemos  a la ciudadanía de la capital, al país y a todos los turistas que nos visitan; un evento cultural de primer mundo y de la mano de un artista de renombre internacional que pocas ciudades se han dando el lujo de tener”, expresó el Alcalde de San José, Johnny Araya Monge.

Como primera fase, se colocaron ya en el Museo del Oro esculturas y fotografías que refieren al origen de la creación artística de Jiménez Deredia, que se basa en la comprensión de la propia identidad cultural y que encuentran en un símbolo como la esfera el sentido del ser y de existir.

Mientras, en el Museo del Jade se presentará en el costado Este una serie de fotografías relacionadas con el trabajo del artista realizadas por el fotógrafo de renombre internacional, Ignacio Guevara. Y, dentro de las instalaciones se expondrán esculturas en mármol y bronce; además se ofrecerá la oportunidad para que el público “viva” directamente el proceso creativo de la realización de una escultura, participando en talleres interactivos  para  no videntes, niños y adultos.

 

La obra monumental 

El primer paso para seleccionar las obras que forman parte de “La Fuerza y la Universalidad de la Esfera”, fue recorrer la principal arteria capitalina y tomar en cuenta las limitaciones para que las grúas puedan colocar sin mayor problema obras de grandes pesos que van de las 5 toneladas hasta las 40 que pesa la Génesis de Costa Rica, la pieza de mayor volumen que estará en exposición.

“Este es un camino largo que iniciamos no solo escogiendo lugares sino también pensando en el mensaje que quiere dar la exposición. Además lo que uno escoge no siempre es el lugar definitivo porque luego al repasarlo con el personal de Bomberos de Costa Rica y quienes manejan las grúas puede cambiar para respetar ciertos espacios”, explicó el escultor Jiménez Deredia.

Luego viene la gestión de recuperar las obras de diversos países que en este caso habían algunas en las ciudades Houston y Miami en Estados Unidos, otras venían de Italia y otras estaban en el proceso de fundición pues fueron hechas por el escultor eespecialmente para esta exposición.

“Una vez seleccionadas las piezas inicia el proceso de envio y de empaque. Hay que organizar cuantos contenedores se necesitan y es complejo pues hay que hacer un cálculo del volumen de cuantas bases y esculturas alcanzan tomando en cuenta peso y espacio”, explica el artista.

Al mismo tiempo se tiene que seleccionar la empresa logística que se encargará del transporte internacional, que se encarga de recoger los contenedores con las esculturas, las embarca y finalmente descarga aquí en Limón para traerlas a las bodegas de la Municipalidad.

“El proceso de Italia hacia Costa Rica requiere una gran cantidad de documentación y revisión de las obras para demostrar que lo que sale no pertenece al patrimonio cultural del país. La gestión se hace ante un departamento de la Intendencia de las Bellas Artes, cuya sede más cercana a nosotros está en la ciudad de Pisa para timbrar las certificaciones que indican que no pertenece al patrimonio y debe hacerse al menos con  8 días de preparación para poder exportar las piezas”, añade. 

La producción 

Al trabajo que Jiménez Deredia inició en Italia, de forma paralela la Municipalidad de San José comenzó a trabajar con al menos a 40 colaboradores del municipio, pero también conformó un comité interinstitucional de 100 personas en el que participa personal de los Museos de Oro y Jade, la Compañía Nacional de Fuerza y Luz, y Bomberos de Costa Rica, entre otros.

“Hay una inversion de ¢40 millones que hace la Municipalidad para sacar adelante este montaje, pero la posibilidad de que diariamente cientos de personas conozcan más de cerca la identidad del ser costarricense, así como del valor cultural e histórico de la muestra no es algo que podamos contabilizar”, aseguró el productor general del proyecto, Jorge Villalobos Loaiza.

La Municipalidad aparte de albergar a las esculturas mientras son colocadas en la que será su casa durante cinco meses, se encarga de limpiarlas, revisarlas y que estén en perfecto estado. Además se realizan obras para asegurar que el nivel del suelo en algunas partes del bulevar donde estén las obras cuenten con la estabilidad requerida para el montaje. 

Otro gran aporte tiene que ver con el operativo de seguridad que se ejecutará durante los cinco meses que se mantenga la exposición: para ello se contará con más de 100 policías que cuidarán las esculturas. Las autoridades esperan que el público las disfrute, las respete y las admire sin perjudicarlas de ninguna forma.

“Con una exposición de este nivel la ciudad gana, pues nos obliga a poner la casa más linda en temas de jardinería y  limpieza; vamos a a cambiar horarios de recolección de basura, así como los sitios de acopio en la Avenida Central, para que este museo a cielo abierto esté lo mejor presentado posible. El mayor reto ha sido coordinar el montaje, escoger espacios y poner de acuerdo a tantas personas,  y ha sido un desafio que puso a prueba toda mi experiencia desarrollando eventos masivos y sale adelante gracias a un gran equipo humano”, afirmó Villalobos.

“La Fuerza y la Universalidad de la Esfera” se inaugurará el próximo miércoles 20 de febrero en la Plaza de la Democracia.
